  • Performance Guest Announcement: Video Game Symphony

The Video Game Symphony is an exciting new orchestra that is enriching the artistic landscape of Northeastern Ohio and inspiring a new generation of musicians. This groundbreaking ensemble is one of the only professional-caliber orchestras in the world dedicated exclusively to the artform of video game music. As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the Video Game Symphony aspires to not only bring this underappreciated genre of music to life in the concert hall, but to reach out and connect with members of the community–hosting engaging concerts and special events, collaborating with local education programs, and drawing new audiences into the rich and expressive realm of classical music.

This will be the first time that the Video Game Symphony performs at Colossalcon.  The group recently gave an electrifying debut performance at the Cleveland Gaming Classic in Fall 2023, and has since then scheduled performances at Fan Expo Cleveland, the Maltz Performing Arts Center, CPL PLAY, and more.  Performing smash hits like Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, Pokemon, Halo, Final Fantasy, and Skyrim in all their symphonic glory, the Video Game Symphony is an experience not to be missed!

  • Performance Guest Announcement: Lame Genie

Lame Genie is not just your ordinary band and YouTubers; they breathe new life into classic and modern video game soundtracks, with their high production and a live show with a fun factor of 5!

Founded in 2012, Lame Genie quickly rose to prominence with their heavy renditions of both retro and modern game soundtracks. Drawing inspiration from the classic era and modern gaming, Lame Genie breathes new life into each song, while still retaining the spirit of the original, creating a unique sonic experience that resonates with gamers and music enthusiasts alike.

What makes a Lame Genie concert truly special is the audience interaction. At their shows, they introduce an interactive game called “Video Game Armageddon,” where the audience becomes part of the action. With the use of their custom developed technology, fans get to choose the next song in the setlist by yelling the loudest, adding an element of unpredictability and excitement to each performance.

With each performance and appearance at any convention, Lame Genie will be the event that all attendees will be talking about and looking forward to for the following year.
